Women Empowerment, Human Rights and Democracy:

Working with women has huge challenges because in our communities a woman is reduced to nothing or looked upon like an article. On the contrary these are the bread winners of their families; without them the family is unsecured. Because these women and girl children are not educated, this explains the challenges BERWODEVCOOP faces on the field working with them. Further more, we did not relent our efforts to educate and
sensitize the women empowering to be more useful to their families and communities.

We organized 2 workshops in Ndu for women on their rights and duties as married women and how they are protected by the law if only they are married legally. This sensitization workshop was concluded with 22 couples signing their legal commitment with the council. We organized 3 workshops again, one in Ako, one in Sabongarri and one in Ngu with the Traditional title-holders and Women leaders on the rights of the girl-child to education and the right to chose a husband that she loves.
